The best city in Peru:

Arequipa

Where it is located        Arequipa?

Arequipa is located at an altitude of 2325 meters above sea level in the desert mountains of the Andes. This beautiful city is built almost entirely in ashlar, a class of white volcanic stone. This is the reason why Arequipa is called the White City. With one million inhabitants, Arequipa is Peru's second largest city. The main location, the Plaza de Armas is the most beautiful in the country. The cathedral is magnificent and the shopping galleries are in colonial style. It is the city with the eternal spring.

Tourist places

Parade Ground

Considered one of the most beautiful places on the continent, known for its towering colonnades of granite embrace on three sides, its imposing cathedral that stands in the fourth and two other churches framing corners: The Church The Company and The Church our lady of Mercy.

Barrio de San Lázaro

Arequipa oldest district, located 500 meters from the main square, a magic area of narrow streets and small squares in black cobblestones surrounded by white architecture in ashlar, from whose walls are hung with geraniums and lanterns.

The Tambos

They correspond to different buildings that were built along the roads in the colonial period to serve as places of rest and resupply from extensive trade routes. In Arequipa there were numerous, mostly located around the Bolognesi Bridge, formerly
the gateway caravan drovers who arrived to the city.

Beautiful Villa Yanahuara

One of the most famous tourist sites for hosting the beautiful Yanahuara Arequipa, terrace surrounded by stone arches serving as a platform for spectacular views of the White City and three snowcapped volcanoes: Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu.

Colca Canyon

One of the deepest natural canyons in the world, a formidable excursion to appreciate highland landscapes, small colonial towns, archeological and remains the most important, the show flying condors at dawn on the abysmal precipice of 3,191 meters deep reaching the Canon.

Main problems in my city

Car traffic in the city is very dense, the quality of different types of pollution.
There is corruption in Arequipa between officials and the mayor of the city.
There is a lot of insecurity in the streets late at night. It's scary.

Possible solutions

Expand the streets and make a renewal of cars. Stop using the old cars who vote lot of smoke, replacing electric cars, which do not cause much pollution.
